the
windjammer inn
Bed, Breakfast and Bistro
The Windjammer Inn was Captain Sam Shepard's pre-confederation
home (1854) in Port Stanley, Ontario.
Choose
from a full range of delicious breakfasts. Have bacon and eggs or
Windjammer's special sausages and eggs. Have crepes or pancakes,
Peter's homemade granola or fresh fruit with yogurt. And if we haven't
thought of it, please ask. Fresh homemade bread is always available.
The on-site cafè also features homemade fare--as only a devoted
lover of food can make it.
The inn is an ideal base for walking the Elgin
Trail, cycling, and bird watching. Thousands of birds congregate
here during their Spring and Fall migrations--5000 hawks circle
over a nearby cliff. Just two blocks away you'll find sandy beaches
and charming shops. There are also galleries and the old downtown
Port Stanley to visit.
Port Stanley is on Hwy. 4, halfway between Windsor/Detroit and Toronto,
1/2 hour South of London, Ontario on the north shore of Lake Erie.
The inn is on 324 Smith Street.
